Jan Lefevere (Kortrijk, België, 1987) is architect en was jarenlang actief in de praktijk, maar stelt de uitholling van het architectenberoep steeds nadrukkelijker in vraag. In een bouwcultuur die wordt gedomineerd door regelgeving, technische optimalisatie en maximale efficiëntie, verschuift architectuur naar de achtergrond en ontstaat een uniforme eenheidsarchitectuur.

Vanuit deze vaststelling verlegt hij zijn praktijk naar een ruimtelijke en beeldende benadering. Met installaties, sculpturen en architecturale ingrepen in bestaande gebouwen en publieke ruimtes stuurt hij de blik, heractiveert plekken en nodigt uit om anders te kijken. Hij werkt samen met mensen die, tegen de stroom in, geloven in ruimtelijke kwaliteit voorbij meetbare waarden en zo ruimte creëren voor verwondering, aandacht en samenleven.
